Stanley to transmit to you herewith for the information of their Lordships, the copy of a despatch from Sir M. Pottinger covering the communications which he addressed both to Lord Saltoun and to Sir W. Parker from which their Lordships will perceive that Sir H. Pottinger had already instructed the Vice Admiral to select land for Naval purposes.

I am at the same time to report that you will state to the Lords Commissioners that the final arrangement on this subject must await the general settlement of affairs in that Colony which is at present under their consideration.
